the competition "Diversity undertakes -
Berlin honors migrant companies"
Among the many entrepreneurs in Berlin, people with a migration background make up a significant proportion, and this proportion is constantly growing. They therefore make a significant contribution to the city's successful economic development and create jobs.
Every two years, this economically significant contribution is recognized: For the award “Diversity Undertakes – Berlin Honors Migrant Companies”, the Senate Department for Economic Affairs, Energy and Enterprises will again in 2023 honor the special and outstanding among the numerous companies that are successfully built up and managed by people with a migration background.
LOK.a.Motion GmbH has been providing start-up support for people with refugee experiences and from third countries for seven years now. From the large pool of people seeking advice in recent years, LOK selected six entrepreneurs to be nominated for the special award. These include educational centers and cafés as well as printing companies and manufacturers of care products.
The special prize is worth 10,000 euros and is awarded to companies founded by refugees. In addition to the special prize, there are three main categories in which the prize is awarded to entrepreneurs with migration experience. The application deadline is May 8, 2023.
